MIA MAJON B&B
Canazei is located at the top of Fassa Valley (Val di Fassa) and is reachable by car via the Italian Motorway A22 from the exits of Egna/Ora or North Bolzano – if you are coming from south/Verona – to then proceed towards Val di Fassa. If you are coming from north/Brenner instead, you will follow the Chiusa/Val Gardena exit, crossing the homonymous valley and continuing through the Sella Pass. You will then drive down till Canazei. In the winter, however, we sincerely suggest you to carefully check the road conditions and practicability of the dolomitic passes before starting your drive.
Getting here by public transport is feasible as well; the nearest train stations are Bolzano, Ora and Trento, depending on the kind of line you are traveling with.
From here, there are multiple bus services towards Val di Fiemme/Fassa (or Passo Costalunga/Pera di Fassa if you arrive in Bolzano) that will take you directly to us, possibly with a few layovers.
Travelling exclusively with public transports to the Dolomites can be a bit challenging and it surely requires some planning ahead. However, we want you to know that we offer our complete availability to assist you in organizing your journey to the mountains and making it as smooth and pleasant as possible.
We fully support different transfer alternatives (as supposed to cars) and it’s our wish for the future to see a smart and accessible transfer system that will allow to move to and around our region and valley without the need of private vehicles.
Nevertheless, once you arrive, we strongly encourage you to make use of our local public transport network available both in the winter and summer and to mostly get around emission-free, preferably by foot or bike.
We think that there aren’t many words needed to describe the Dolomites and above all, it is crucial to us that everybody feels free to explore them in their own way, depending on their needs and interests.
Whether it’s sliding down a slope in winter or hiking up a trail in summer, simply reading a good book by the riverside or breathing the damp air in the middle of a forest, we believe there is a way of experiencing the mountains and nature that is true and available to each of us and that everybody can find their own dimension to seek tranquility and shelter for some rest and inner nourishment.
Our neighborhood is very calm and quiet, we are in the middle of the meadows and contemporarily only a little walk away from the town center, the cycle path and the gondola station.
In the winter, if you like skiing, Canazei is a very strategic starting point for many of the Dolomiti Superski itineraries and to all the cross-country skiers out there instead, there is a ring track that is linked to the main trail and slopes of the valley. For the experienced mountaineers or nature purists, many are the wilder areas to witness on backcountry ski or snowshoes tours, in hopes of regular and balanced winters and snowfalls coming back in our alpine regions.
The summer season offers endless possibilities, from via ferratas and climbing routes to all the various options for trekkings and hikes, down throughout the valley or at higher altitudes. Biking around also is a wonderful way to explore our land. Electric bikes take you everywhere (and in no time) along and up mountain valleys and trails whereas the road bike lovers will certainly enjoy the testing but rewarding bends of the dolomitic passes.
Finally, in off-season time, silence and tranquility reign, spring meadows get painted with all kinds of wild blooms and the warmth of autumn colors feels like an embrace in the blowing crisp air. There is a sense of isolation that these months are able to gift, one that’s distant from the hustle and bustle of the peak season and that allows you to enter into a sort of local way of living and ordinariness. It makes these times more special and authentic and perhaps even, the most beautiful moments of the year.
Indicatively, we are open from December to April and from June to September.
We are trying, however, to experiment with new openings so please don’t hesitate to contact us for different periods as well.
